Science is Creating Synthetic Life

INTRODUCTION  From centuries, life is considered as something which could only arise naturally that is through evolution, reproduction and the slow processes of nature. Nowadays science is challenging these ideas. Around the world,in laboratories scientists and researchers are no longer just studying living organisms rather they are attempting to design and build life itself.  This revolutionary field is known as synthetic life and it is reshaping our understanding of biology, technology and what it truly means to be alive. In this blog post,we will explore what is synthetic life, its uses and what ethical issues arise from such processes.  Sup WHAT IS SYNTHETIC LIFE? The living systems which are artificially created or significantly redesigned by human beings using principles of biology, chemistry, engineering and computer science are referred to as synthetic life. In genetically modified organisms (GMOs),existing life is altered,howeve...

Major Inventions in Chemistry Part-I

INORGANIC CHEMISTRY INVENTIONS  1. Haber-Bosch Process (1909):   -It is a method that brought revolution in the production of ammonia. Nitrogen (N2) and hydrogen (H2) gases are used to produce ammonia (NH3).  -German chemist Fritz Haber and engineer Carl Bosch in the early 20th century developed this process which had a profound impact on the production of fertilizers, explosives, and other chemicals. - In 1904, by using a combination of nitrogen and hydrogen gases Fritz Haber experimented the production of ammonia. -However in 1909,He achieved a breakthrough as he was able to develope a process which by using high pressure and temperature converted nitrogen and hydrogen into ammonia. -Commercial-scale production of ammonia was made possible in 1913 by the efforts of,an engineer at BASF, Carl Bosch who jointly worked with Haber thus scaling up the process. -The ammonia produced by this process is used to manufacture fertilizers like amm...

Science and it's Archives

I.Introduction to Science The word science has been derived from a Latin word ' scient ' meaning knowledge. It is the study of physical and natural world around us through observations and experiments are done for collecting evidence to prove any topic. The full form of Science is:  " Systematic,Comprehensive Investigation and Exploration of Natural,Causes and Effect" - Definition of science : Science is the pursuit and application of knowledge and understanding of the natural and social world following a systematic methodology based on evidence. - Importance of science in our daily lives : From dawn till dusk, our lives are surrounded by the fascination of science making it a fundamental part of our daily lifestyle. There's science in everything,  [ ] How heat changes raw food into cooked one  [ ] How washing powders remove dirt from clothes [ ] Irrigation system of farmers [ ] Our day to day use of machinery  [ ] Toys with which our children p...
