ACIDS,BASES and SALTS

INTRODUCTION  The fundamental concept in chemistry which plays an important role in different biological, industrial and environmental processes is of Acids,Bases and Salts. These substances are very abundant as they can be found everywhere around us in our daily lives from the food we eat to the products we use. It is essential to understand the properties,reaction0s, applications of acids, bases and salts for appreciating their complex reactions and their impact on our world. They are used in several applications such as food preservation, pharmaceuticals and industrial manufacturing. Moreover all three of them play an important role in maintaining the balance of ecosystems by regulating the pH of the environment.  These three substances show unique chemical properties and undergo specific chemical reactions which are essential for their applications. In industrial fields like those of food, pharmaceuticals and manufacturing they have several applications and they ...

The Foundation of Plant Life:SEEDS

INTRODUCTION   The reproductive units of plants are known as seeds which play an essential role in the life cycle of flowering plants, trees and other types of vegetation. The embryo of the new plant is contained in a protective outer covering which we call as seed along with food supply. Seeds are considered as a vital part of plant biology because of the significance it holds in different fields like botany, agriculture, ecology and human society. They are considered to be essential for various reasons which are as follows: >   The primary means of reproduction for many of the plant species are seeds. >   They are an important source of food for human beings and animals as they provide essential nutrients and energy. >   They play an important role in balancing the ecosystem as they allow the plants to colonize new areas and help them in adapting with changed environments. The diversity among the plant species is determined by the seed...

A worldwide concern: Global Warming

INTRODUCTION  The most pressing issue with far reaching consequences for the environment of our generation is Global Warming as along with the environment it eventually affects human health and economy. The term 'Global warming' basically means the rise in average temperature of the Earth's surface because of the human activities which releases greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide and methane into the atmosphere. Such gases trap heat from the sun which leads to a warming effect on the planet. This warming of the planet leads to certain consequences such as rise in sea levels, more frequent and severe heatwaves and changes in precipitation patterns. Coastal communities and ecosystems are affected due to rising sea levels and frequent heatwaves can severely impact human health. Droughts and Floods are becoming more common due to changes in precipitation patterns due to which agricultural activities are affected. It is essential to reduce global warming for avoiding its seve...
