INTRODUCTION 

The Astronomical branch which deals with the physical properties of celestial objects and phenomena is known as Astrophysics. To understand the behavior and evolution of the universe,it applies principles from physics and astronomy.

WHAT IS ASTROPHYSICS 
A multidisciplinary field which combines the concepts from physics,astronomy and mathematics for studying the behavior and evolution of the universe is known as Astrophysics. The Physicist of this field are known as astrophysicist and they use a wide range of techniques which includes observations, experiments and theoretical models for understanding the behavior of celestial objects and phenomena. 


BRANCHES OF ASTROPHYSICS 

It is a very vast field which encompasses various branches which are as follows:
●Stellar Astrophysics : It is mainly the study of physical properties and the behavior of stars.
●Galactic Astrophysics : It is the study of structure, composition and evolution of the galaxies. 
●Cosmology : It is the study of the origin,evolution and the fate of an universe.
●Planetry Science : It is the study of the physical properties and behavior of the planets and other objects present in our solar system. 

PHENOMENA OF ASTROPHYSICS 

The astrophysicist study a different range of phenomena by applying physics, astronomy and mathematics.  Some of the widely studied phenomena using Astrophysics are as follows:
●Black Hole : It is known that these are the regions of spacetime where gravity is so strong that nothing can escape.
●Neutron Stars: They are the extremely dense stars which are formed when massive stars undergo supernovae explosions.
●Supernovae:  It is known that they are the massive star explosions which can be seen from millions of light-years away.
●Dark matter:  It is a type of matter which does not emit and reflect light and its is thought that it makes up approximately 27% of the universe's mass-energy density. 

ASTROPHYSICAL RESEARCH METHODS

For studying the behavior and evolution of the universe, astrophysicist use different types of research methods which are as follows:
●Observations: Astrophysicist use telescopes and other instrumental objects to collect data about celestial objects and phenomena. 
●Experiments : They conduct experiments in labs to study the physical properties of materials and processes which are relevant to Astrophysics. 
●Theoritical Modelling: They develop mathematical models to describe the behavior of celestial objects and phenomena. 

IMPORTANCE OF ASTROPHYSICS 

It is considered an important field of research as it has led to number of breakthroughs and discoveries. Some of the main reasons which is why Astrophysics is considered to be important are as follows:
●Understanding the Universe: This branch has helped us in understanding the behavior and evolution of the universe that is from the Big Bang to the present day.
●Advancing Technology: The research in this field has led to numerous technological innovation which includes the development of new materials, detectors and computational technologies.

APPLICATIONS OF ASTROPHYSICS 

The field Astrophysics has various applications in numerous places which are as follows:

●Technology Development :  The research in this field has led to the development of new technologies which includes advanced materials, compuational techniques and detectors.

CHALLENGES IN ASTROPHYSICS 

Instead of so many advances in which have been made in Astrophysics, there are still various challenges which requires attention.  Some of the main challenges are as follows:
●Understanding Dark matter and Dark Energy: Such mysterious components are expected to make up approximately 95% of the universe's mass-energy density,but still there nature and behavior are still not well understood. 
●Developing New Observational and experimental techniques : The research in Astrophysics requires the development of new technologies and techniques to study the universe.
●Interpretation of Complex Data: The research in this field mostly involves working with large and complex databases which are challenging to get interpreted. 

FUTURE OF ASTROPHYSICS 

The research work in the field of Astrophysics holds an exciting and opportunistic future. Some of the main areas which are likely to be the focus of future of research are as follows:
●The Search for Life beyond Earth: Most of the physicists of this field are working to detect science of life in the atmosphere of other planets abd are understanding the conditions necessary to sustain life on planet other than the Earth.
●The study of Gravitational waves : The determination of gravitational waves has opened up new opportunities for astrophysical research which includes the study of black holes and neutron stars.
●The exploration of the Universe: The astrophysicist are working to explore the universe in new and innovative ways which includes the use of advanced telescopes and spacecraft.
